As part of a fantastic recruiting class, freshmen Anthony Bennett and Katin Reinhardt figured to be major players for UNLV at some point. After just three games, it appears that time is now. Bennett and Reinhardt lead the Rebels in scoring, and are flourishing for Dave Rice as quickly as any freshmen in the country.
Bennett has not disappointed as the highest rated member of UNLV's freshman class. The chiseled forward is averaging 18.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game on a sparkling 57.6% from the field. Bennett has scored 20 or more point in two out of three contests, highlighted by a 22 point 10 rebound performance against Oregon.
Reinhardt, known for his elite shooting ability, has been able to put points on the board from day one. Second on the team in scoring behind Bennett, Reinhardt has averaged 14.3 points in a whopping 31 minutes per game. After scoring in double figures in all three of UNLV's games so far, expect Reinhardt's percentages to go up, and be on the lookout for a serious offensive explosion -- he's more than capable of burning teams for 20+ and, like Bennett, is only getting started.
